The salty water of the region's natural springs provided the base for the development of aquaculture in the mid- 20th century. These springs, that have supported life and agriculture for thousands of years, were found to be ideal for the breeding and fattening of a wide variety of both fresh and saltwater fish.
In this era, when grazing grounds are becoming scarce, aquaculture is taking on an important role in feeding the world – and that is exactly the reason we have been investing and developing so much in this field.
Today, as for the last three decades, Zemach Feed Mill is Israel's largest and most advanced producer of feed for the aquaculture business. Along with local fish farmers, our customers include large fish growers from around the world, particularly in Africa and Central America.
Our aquafeed lines offer feeding solutions for a wide variety of animals, such as shrimp, sturgeon, sea bass (and bream) and many more. Each feed is specially formulated to meet with the farmer's demands and life stages of the animals.
